Air Quality Testing for Every Situation

Air Quality Testing for Every Situation

November 3, 2020

At Aeris, we offer services to keep your residential and commercial properties safe. Our environmental consulting services analyze environmental concerns for development and construction, private and public industries, safety regulations, property acquisition, health compliance, infrastructure and public works and energy efficiency and sustainability.

Asbestos Air Sampling

In addition to environmental consulting services, we offer asbestos air sampling. Our surveys are performed by trained AHERA building inspectors. Asbestos can be present in a wide range of building materials including:

• Insulation
• Linoleum and vinyl flooring
• Caulking
• Roofing shingles
• Ceramic tile mortar
• Drywall
• Air duct tape mastic
• Grout
• Popcorn ceiling texture
• Tar paper
• Joint compound

ACM or asbestos-containing materials are not hazardous unless friable. This means if you pinch the material between your fingers it will crumble easily. If friable, the material is dangerous due to the inevitable release of fibers into the ambient air.

Once inhaled, these fibers can cause long-term and serious illnesses including mesothelioma and cancer. During our asbestos survey, an experienced team inspects and identifies the location of these materials and the current condition. We believe an asbestos survey is extremely important for your facility.

Commercial and Residential Air Quality Testing

We offer both commercial and residential air quality testing encompassing a variety of environmental factors, compounds, and components. Our approach includes the knowledge, experience, and data necessary to address any concerns about your indoor air quality. Our services help you calculate potential health concerns, risks, project costs and liabilities for your home or business.

Air Quality Test for Mold

When elevated levels of moisture are introduced to your environment, fungal growth is a potential issue. The introduction of moisture can occur in numerous forms including substantial water loss or water vapor building up in an enclosed environment. The water then seeps into your building materials resulting in the growth of mold in the materials affected.

When there is enough moisture and mold growth, our concern is spores. We can perform an air quality test for mold to identify the origin, cause, and type of mold. During your mold assessment, our trained technicians will perform the following actions.

• Conduct a visual inspection
• Conduct a survey for building material moisture
• Provide photo documentation
• Surface and ambient air sampling
• Complete a microscope analysis through our consultant team and a third-party lab
• Log humidity and temperature throughout the building
• Provide a final report including findings, observations and recommendations

Volatile Organic Compound Exposure

VOC exposure can occur daily such as a new car smell, building materials for your home or even a new sofa. This smell can be linked to potential chemical off-gassing resulting in symptoms from the quality of your indoor air. As time passes, the smell will start to fade or disappear due to the completion of the off-gassing period. We are able to offer specific compound testing including formaldehyde sampling.

In many instances, we do not have specifics for the history or compound in question. This is when we offer a library search including dozens of compounds frequently located in just one sampling period. Our professional team will make recommendations for the correct solution regarding your exposure, liability, and risk. Potential sources of off-gassing include:

• Upholstery fabrics
• Materials for vinyl flooring
• Sealing caulks
• Paints
• Fiberboard (medium density)
• Varnishes
• Solvents
• Carpeting, padding and the associated adhesives

Finding the Right Solutions

At Aeris, our team works with general contractors, remediations specialists, property managers and insurance adjusters to minimize liability risks. We work with homeowners directly to find solutions for indoor environmental issues. Once we have tested your home, we will leave you with peace of mind.

We provide service for West Palm Beach, Miami, Broward County, Coral Springs, Hollywood and surrounding neighborhoods, including Royal Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Jupiter, Weston, Hallandale Beach, Pembroke Pines, Aventura, Sunny Isles Beach, and Brickell.
